Media Advocacy Project: Enactment of Termination of Pregnancy Bill
Current Problem: The figures are startling. Over 140,000 women and girls in Malawi procure unsafe abortions using dangerous substances and objects. Most of them end up injuring and even killing themselves. The criminalisation of abortion in Malawi is fuelling the problem.
The Project: The project is using the media to galvanise support for the enactment of the already drafted Termination of Pregnancy Bill through sustained reportage on the issue.
