As is its tradition, the Centre for Solutions Journalism on September 28 took part in the International Safe Abortion Day commemorations held in eastern Malawi district of Balaka. The gathering brought together community members, activists, and health professionals, Members of Parliament and government officials who raised awareness about the importance of safe abortion practices and reproductive rights. By the end of the commemoration, the message was clear: safe abortion is a critical aspect of healthcare, and with continued advocacy and education, communities like Balaka can foster environments where women’s rights and well-being are respected and protected.
