Malawi continues to repatriate its citizens from from South Africa in the wake of xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals.  The pictures by Petros Mkandawire of state-run Malawi News Agency tells it all.

Almost all the returnees are repatriated using buses hired by the Malawi Government and well-wishers.

Harrowing stories of suffering 

Treating pregnant women with dignity is a fundamental human right. It encompasses the right to bodily autonomy, respectful maternity care, and protection from all forms of discrimination or mistreatment. Every expectant mother deserves safe, compassionate support throughout her pregnancy and childbirth. But the vigilantes in South Africa never considered the plight of Amina Bwanali who gave birth at a camp as she was denied access to a health facility.
